Unique Piece – June 2024

A glimpse of buildings near my studio in Istanbul, perspectives seen daily by those who live in the urban context, geometries and architectures that fill the spaces and fit together. A new technique I used was to apply polystyrene panels on canvas and then cover them with a mixture I prepared of pulverized ceramic, cement and building glues for hardening.

I liked the effect of the rough surface of the work because it creates heterogeneous shades that are similar to the facades of stuccoed buildings in the street .
A high relief created on canvas and hung on the wall like a painting.
